DIAL 911 FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE
The River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS (RH/LW EMS) proudly provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) coverage 24/7 to the Lake Wylie/Bethel areas of York County, SC. The squad Headquarters and Training Center building is off Hwy 49 at the entrance to River Hills Plantation. Transport is available to the six major medical centers within a 20 mile radius.
The all volunteer squad (about 50 members) is State-Certified and is part of the York County Enhanced 911 System. RH/LW EMS provides EMS coverage at community events, holds safety related training in CPR and First-Aid for the general public, and conducts public safety programs in local schools and businesses.
The River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS Reserve Squad provides character building and leadership experience for 14 to 18 year old volunteer high school students. They train in First-Aid, CPR, taking vital signs, and all emergency equipment operation. They also assist adult crews on ambulance runs. Several members have gone on to become EMTs.
RH/LW EMS support is through tax deductible donations and an Annual Fund Drive.
All services are free of charge.
