Taxes
South Carolina has one of the nation's lowest state and local per capita tax burdens. The state has no real or personal property tax nor intangibles tax and levies. It does have a 6% retail sales tax. York County residential property is assessed at 4% of the appraised value, commercial property at 6% and industrial property at 10.5%. The millage levy for the Lake Wylie area is the lowest in York County.
